A better corporate gift starts with a better brief
Before choosing a notebook, a bottle or a presentation box, decide what the gift needs to do. A clear brief gives your gifting partner a useful starting point and makes proposals easier to compare.

Start with the person, not the product
An employee joining a team, a long-standing client and an exhibition visitor are receiving a gift in different circumstances. Write down who the recipients are, how they will receive it and what you want the gesture to communicate.
For a welcome kit, consider what someone will use in their first working week. For client appreciation, think about the relationship and occasion. For an event, consider how easily visitors can carry the gift home.
Set a budget for the complete gift
Specify whether your budget is per recipient or for the whole project. Ask the quotation to distinguish products, customisation, packaging, samples, delivery and any applicable taxes. A product price alone does not tell you the final cost of a finished gift.
If the budget is tight, prioritise a smaller selection of useful items. A personal message and considered presentation can be more appropriate than adding another item simply to fill the box.
Give quantities and dates together
Share the required quantity, the date the gifts must be in hand and the delivery locations. Include any separate handover dates for branches, remote employees or event venues.
Ask your supplier to confirm the schedule for artwork approval, sampling where required, production and delivery. Do not assume that a product being available means a customised order can be completed immediately.
Make branding decisions before production
Provide your logo artwork, brand colours and any names or messages to personalise. Ask to see the proposed placement and scale, not just a product photograph. Check that names, spelling and artwork versions are approved by the right person.
For mixed gift sets, request a coordinated approach across the items and packaging. The same logo does not need to be equally prominent on every surface.
Use this checklist for your next enquiry
Send: occasion; recipient profile; quantity; budget per gift; required delivery date; delivery locations; preferred items; logo files; packaging preferences; and any personalisation or dietary requirements.
Separate essentials from preferences. For example, a fixed event date might be essential, while the box colour could be flexible. That helps your gifting partner propose realistic alternatives.
